Artist Statement

I used to be afraid of walking in the dark- away from pedestrians, cars, street lights and the glare of commerce.  Now I enjoy exploring the countryside at night in search of the moment when electric light conspires with the fading sun or the rising moon and stars to cast a rich glow over the landscape.  I take slow photographs of the country that reward the viewer with stillness and subtle patterns and colors that are only revealed to those with patient appreciation.
