Entered in PhotoShow2020

"Planning for Obsolesence"

In March when we were all going into quarantine, I was in the middle of my final class at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. We had to complete the work online which was difficult since the final project was to execute a gallery show. The class quickly pivoted to exploring how we could exhibit art in an environment where we could not gather safely.

My proposal was to display in a virtual gallery where the patrons could wander around in a computer simulated space where they can appreciate the scale of the art as it would appear in real life. Click here to visit my virtual gallery.

In addition to the virtual tour of my work, I am entered in PhotoShow2020 which is an in-person event! In previous years, PhotoShow was held at the Printer’s Row Art Fest (I won it last year). Since Art Fest has been canceled this year, PhotoShow2020 has gone guerilla and will be held at two farmers’ markets in the South Loop.

Thursday, August 27, 2020, 4:00 PM -8:00 PM, South Loop Farmers Market, 1936 S Michigan Ave

Saturday, August 29, 2020, 7:00 AM-11:00 AM, Printers Row Farmers Market, 634 S Dearborn St

Please come and see my latest work at the outdoor farmers market and score some fresh produce.

I completed my class and earned my certificate in Studio Art and Design.
